The TWSBI Vac 700R in IRIS has an excellent quality look and feel from the Taiwanese manufacturer that takes customer feedback and prototype testing seriously. Quite a large pen, which can be written with posted or unposted without effecting the balance, in our opinion.

Diamond faceted patter on cap and filler knob, smooth tapered barrel shape with polished trim, except for the pocket clip which has a matte appearance.

Approximately 1.7ml ink capacity when filled completely, 1.4ml on one vacuum plunge.

The Vac 700R is the updated version of the original Vac 700. The pen now has 1 valve in place of the 2 in the smaller model, this is combined with a larger ink feed. Unfortunately nibs from the original 700 model are not interchangeable with the new version.

The blind cap at the end of the barrel will still need to be open to ensure a consistent ink flow during extended writing. It's designed to seal the barrel from the nib to keep the large ink capacity safely airtight. Opening it allows ink through to write.

As with other TWSBIs, the Vac 700R comes with a small spanner and pot of silicone grease. It is not necessary to disassemble the pen when new or often, but these tools give you the choice of carrying out maintenance.
